The Mountain

I begin where I am
It’s the only place to start
As I climb upon your mountain
In my mourning I depart

I come across Your people
Carrying their cross
Smiles carried on their faces
And a greeting from the heart

Sweat that leaves my body
As I run upon your fields
And the trees that provide shade
Allow me not to yield

By God’s strength I reach the top
The chapel marks my path
The ocean now before me
It’s grandeur I cannot grasp

Up here I feel your joy
As I taste the rays from sun
And here I’ll spend eternity
Inside Your core of love
